Geely Diagnosis Flow. Manual part - 66

11

Tire bead
prized up

Tire fabric and tire
bead slip off; if
severe, steel wire
could be seen.

Incorrect assembling: damage tire bead during
assembling.

Apply lubricating oil
while assembling,
and avoid barbaric
behaviors

12

Tire bead’s
steel wire
cracked,
blown up

Steel wire cracked in
order, and those at
cracks having its
radius reduced.

Use improper hub or tire seat. Rim is not effectively
lubricated. When assembling, tire bead is not fully closed
with rim. To complete assembling, charge too high
pressure, causing high shear force locally at tire bead,
making its steel wire broken in order, and tearing the tire
sidewall, even causing severe accidents.

Lubricate
effectively, and
avoid charging too
high pressure and
forced assembly

13

Worn and
damaged

Tire casing deformed,
tire cavity with high
temperature
scorching, and tire
sidewall
circumferentially

While driving under insufficient pressure or pressure
loss, causing contact surface of the tire too large, and
unusual heating, and also causing reduced tire
performance and rolling, till blown up; if severe,
accidents may occur.

Keep normal
pressure

With obvious rolling
traces and
scorification of cord
thread; if severe, cord
thread and tire casing
rolled and cracked.

14

Unusual
abrasion
(one side at
shoulder)

Pattern of one side of
tire crown is
circumferentially
worn too quickly than
other parts

A. Toe-in too large or positive camber angle too large,
and tire shoulder of outer side is worn. B. Toe-in too large
or negative camber angle too large, and tire shoulder of
inner side is worn.

Correct toe-in or
camber angle

15

Unusual
abrasion
(local)

Local pattern of tire
crown is
circumferentially
worn more quickly
than other parts

When emergency braking or braking locking, tire is
instantly abraded with road surface locally, causing local
abrasion too quick.

Avoid emergency
braking

16

Unusual
abrasion

Local pattern of tire
crown is worn as in
lumpy

Caused by driving habit of mechanical system (caster
angle too large, hub eccentric)

Check mechanical
system of the
vehicle, and avoid
rapid steering,
braking, startup

17

Unusual
abrasion
(two sides at
shoulder)

Pattern at two sides
of tire crown is
circumferentially
worn too quickly than
other parts

Driving under relatively low pressure

Check pressure
and use standard
pressure

No. 188 Causes analysis for common manufacturing defects of Geely

automobile tire

Serial
No.

Malfunctions

Malfunction

Causes

1

Bracing ply
separates

Tire casing not stabbed, but cord thread loosens with
tire casing.

1. Steel wire of bracing ply not well bound
with tire casing; ply separation may occur.
2. While driving at high-speed for long time
with low pressure, frictional force between
tire and road surface increases, and tire
crown unusually heats up, causing reduced
adhesive force among parts, and ply
separation may occur.

2

Joint slips off

Surface layer between tire sidewall rubber and
rubber cracked

Tire rubber and sidewall not well bound
during manufacturing.

3

Tire sidewall
loosening

Side bulged out; foreign substances inside while
dissecting.

Other substances mixed during
manufacturing

4

Inner loosening

Cord plies bulged out, loosened with tire casing.

1. Inner lining or cord plies and tire casing
ply not well bound during manufacturing.
2. While driving at high-speed for long time
with low pressure, frictional force between
tire and road surface increases, and tire
crown unusually heats up, causing reduced
adhesive force among parts, and ply
separation may occur.

No. 189 CD-player disk boot malfunction (without MP3)

Malfunction Cause

Solution

Power source malfunction

Inspect +B and GND, which normal value shall be 10V to 14V.
When ACC and GND ignition switch locating at ACC or ON, the
voltage shall be 10V to 14V. If it indicates no powers supply, then
check whether the fuse is burnt or not, and replace it if necessary.
In common condition, GND and vehicle earth lead shall be
conducted.

CD inserted in wrong direction

Check if the disk is inserted in wrong direction, and correct it if
necessary.

Wrong CD format or too dirty
disk

Firstly inspect the disk format, and change disk if necessary. Then
check whether it contains dirt or scratch mark and replace it if
necessary.

CD not reset yet

Press RESET button to reset CD-player

Shock proof screw not
removed

Remove the shock proof screw on housing

The laser head is too dusty and dirty, which affect reading ability of
the lens. And it needs to be cleaned. Clean method: clean with
special disk.

The laser head of CD-player is
too dirty or aged and too high
resistance

Laser head ageing, this results low laser power. That is, the beam
from laser head can not focus correctly, which causes reading
ability reduction or losing. Replace CD-player assembly.

CD-player disk
Boot malfunction

Internal CD-player circuit
malfunction

Replace CD-player assembly.

264

CD-player disk boot failure (without MP3)

Using non-CD disk

Dust on CD laser head

Dirt on disk

Power source malfunction

CD-player not reset

CD inserts in wrong direction

Disk contains scrapes or deformation

abnormal

Shockproof screw not removed

Internal CD-player malfunction

Please use CD disk, rather than VCD,

DVD or PC disk etc.

Clean laser head

Clean disk

Inspect +B and GND, which normal value shall be 10V to 14V.

When ACC and GND ignition switch locating at ACC or ON, the

voltage shall be 10V to 14V. Inspect and replace the fuse.
